The International MXT isn’t your average pick-up truck – it comes from a line of heavy duty trucks introduced to those who are looking to make a big statement. These trucks have their commercial uses, but they are more geared towards image – many businesses use these pick-ups to successfully promote their businesses. The MXT is built on the same chassis as its CXT and RXT brethren, all which share the same goal of redefining the pick-up. The MXT differentiates itself thanks to a lowered cab that gives it a lower, sleeker profile, with the large waterfall grille rounding out the look. There is also a militarized model available known as the MXT-MVA, but of course, it’s only for the military.

The International MXT is powered by a 300hp 6.0 liter International VT 365 diesel V8 mated to a 5 speed Allison 2000 automatic transmission. This engine produces over 530 pounds-feet of torque, meaning it has enough grunt to easily handle the MXT’s 16,000lb rated towing capacity and a payload of over 4 tons inside of its 7 foot long cargo bed. At 248 inches long in overall length, the International MXT can be a bear to fit in parking spaces and even your own garage.

The International MXT is far from the bare-bones truck that one would expect. In fact, it has many of the creature comforts that can be found in other trucks, including leather seating surfaces, power windows and door locks, keyless entry and a leather-wrapped tilt steering wheel. Other options include a navigation system with a 6.5 inch screen plus a rearview camera, a DVD entertainment system with a 10 inch screen and Sirius Satellite Radio. If a buyer opts for the “Prestige” interior, their MXT will come with ivory-colored gauges, front and rear air-ride seats, floor mats unique to that trim package, and silver interior trim. There is also a “Limited” package for the International MXT that features a larger LCD screen, a front-to-center rear console, and rear bucket seats, among many other interior upgrades.

Due to its approximate 10,000lb GVWR (gross vehicle weight rating), the International MXT is exempt from federal CAFÉ standards, which is a good thing considering its estimated 13 to 15mpg overall fuel economy. It’s little wonder that the International MXT carries a 40 gallon fuel tank. The MXT’s price range is also as heavy as the truck itself. Expect to pay anywhere from $89,500 to $130,000 for this unique machine.
